After last weekend's thriller at the Bessa against Vitória FC, it is time for the Black Panthers to visit the Quarry, home of 3rd placed SC Braga.
Boavista might have won last week's encounter against the Setúbal team (1-0, Mateus), but at great cost. Two of the checkered boys were sent off with red cards (Edu Machado and Raphael Silva) and Fábio Espinho suffered an injury and had to be substituted during the first half. This must definitely be giving trainer Jorge Simão a major headache, specially considering key player David Simão's 4 matchdays suspension. To make matters worse, Obiora's and Yusupha Njie's return to competition is still unknown.
Boavista and SC Braga have faced eachother 106 times. The Black Panthers hold the advantage, with 44 wins, against 39 for the Braga side. SC Braga is currently one of the strongest sides in the competition, lagging only behind of last year's champions FC Porto and Sporting CP. Last season's match at the Municipal de Braga, also known as the Quarry, was a thrilling 1-1 draw.
The match starts at 8:00 pm local time.
