A dream debut. Gonçalo Cardoso (17), who arrived at the Bessa's youth teams last season, was considered the man of the match against CD Aves (1x0).

Raphael Silva's injury and Sparagna's suspension due to a red card against Rio Ave forced changes in the heart of the checkered defense. With only one victory in the last six games, a safer option was expected, such as adapting Mandiang. But in the end the choice fell on the yougster.

In the end, Jorge Simão clarified that his bet on Cardoso didn't happen by chance. The young defender wasn't being thrown at the lions, he took a long awaited opportunity.

The youngster, who became the second youngest Portuguese defender of the century to start on a Primeira Liga match, now departs on the adventure with the u19 Portuguese national team.
